| Okay.....Here's my thoughts after driving ~ 200 miles on the Leader Gears. After roughly 40 miles of gingerly break-in driving, I drove approximately another 150 miles of stop-n-go, highway, and hard acceleration. Everyday driving is greatly enhanced. In normal shifting, there is much more power as soon as I hit the next gear. Lag is greatly reduced. Also, I get louder exhaust note which I assume is due to higher RPMs.
Before the gears, I almost never hit 5th gear since I drive mostly in town. Now I find myself using 5th more often. Highway driving is fine. I do have a SLIGHT whine, but it's only when I reach approx 62 MPH and it seems decrease when I hit around 85 MPH. This could be a bit annoying if you have a car with stock pipes and no radio. With your radio at a moderate level and most aftermarket exhaust, the whine would likely go unnoticed. There is NO whine I can detect below the 62 MPH mark. Hard acceleration is great! Haven't really noticed much increased wheel spin. Much more responsive. In summary:
Are the gears worth it? Hell Yes!
They've been IMO the best upgrade I've made thus far.
The car feels lighter, much more responsive, and much more steady power band.
